hey Kenny!   the 2nd or 'late' rut is happening here now. saw an 8 pointer going after the small doe that were born in the early spring on Thursday evening and again yesterday evening. glad to report that as of yesterday evening I am tagged out and he is no longer chasing those young doe. nothing like bow hunting in the snow and even better, getting a buck with a stickbow AFTER the gun season.

if the 2nd rut is happening now, i would argue that the 1st rut doesn't really end!  Ever since a week before rifle season (here in MO), i've been seeing rutting activity.  Cruising bucks, bucks following does/chasing does.  I picked up the bow again after rifle season and have contunued to see activity!  MDC is pretty humorous!

Didn't see anything through the fog here this morning but I will go back out again tomorrow and give it another whirl. Hopefully the wind is right to set my good stand.
