Bear Springarm quivers??
« on: October 05, 2009, 08:36:00 PM »
I have an old 4 arrow bear that I use on my Kodiak Mag, its the type with the springarm on top the bottom mounts to a bracket that screws into the bushing. I've been using this setup for several years and it works OK after some modification. It has the longer arm and I had to move it down and bend it pretty good to get it to fit, I've heard there was a shorter arm version but never been able to find one, anyone know of a source where to get a arm or know what year/models they were on? Thanks..

The 8 arrow quivers had the different length arms. The 4 arrow you have came with one length. I moved mine down toward the bottom and then used a tie-wrap to pull the arm toward the wire frame just below the hood. I may have heated it to get it to bend .... not sure as I did that maybe 20 years ago.

That's crazy Ron!

My 4-arrow converta quiver has had a tie-wrap around the screw clamp area of the spring arm since I got it about 8 years ago attached to my first traditional bow. I just left it there because for some reason it always made me wonder why it was there.

Now I have the answer thanks to you. It must have slid down the frame to its current point.

Funny that I left it there all these years for no reason at all other than to find out its purpose today...    :notworthy:

I need help gang ... I just received a dual spring arm Bear quiver and the top arm was removed for shipping and I think I have it re-installed correctly but the little tang on the top arm when installed on the bow points away from the back of the bow and the quiver itself is not parallel to the string.

Can someone post a pic of it installed ... thanks guys.

This is how the brackets should be on the bow.
The quiver should be at a slight angle to the the string as in the photo.

Ok great, thanks you guys. I do find it strange that the keeper tang on the lower limb is bent away from the bow (rather than toward it like the upper limb) allowing the quiver to slide off the limbs more easily.

That little "tang" is bent that way to ease placing the arm on the limb, not to hold it there. This is the same as in the Bear catalog photos.

If it was bent in towards the limb you would be putting a crease/mark on the limb every time you put it on or took it off.

It amazes me how many people put the lower arm on backwards. They think the "tang" should face in. The picture is correct.
