This is my first post here, but also it is a report on my first traditional deer.
First let me say what a great site this is, I have been lurking here for a while but, have not posted.
Well, on Thursday night the 6th of December I went out and set up a ground blind on a heavily used run leading to a soybean foodplot. On friday (7 dec.) I was able to hunt it with the correct wind. With the light starting to wane, a large doe came down the trail. At 10 yards I was able to draw and relase an arrow from my custom Whisperstik without her seeing me. The arrow passed clean through, taking out both lungs. This is a very special animal for me. I have been a bowhunter for 20 years and have always used the compound with sights. This is the culmination of a long road of practice and persistance in the traditional sense. I am now one of you. Jim Lund has been very influential with his encouragement to shoot the traditional bow. Not to mention that he custom built the Whisperstik to my wishes. At 50lbs and smooth as any bow I have ever pulled, this made the difference. Thanks to "longbowjim" for helping me away form the dark side and encourageing me to stay with the stick. I am very happy!!! :D
I dont know how to post a pic, but I have them in my e-mail and can send them to someone "in the know".
