1967 58" Grizzly (Added BH Request)
« on: January 08, 2010, 10:12:00 PM »
I just picked up what appears to be a pretty nice 67 Grizzly 58" 43@28 for my wife as something to get her started with. Should be just over 30lbs. at her draw. Do you guys think this will be a good one for her? What can you tell me about them? I'm ashamed to say that i've never owned a Bear recurve (who'd a thunk huh!) but still dream of owning a wood B handle TD one of these days! Any input is appreciated!

Thanks...Ken   :archer:

You can't go wrong with that one Ken. They've stood the test of time. I hunt with a '59 Grizzly and it'll outlive me.

We had a bow like that for my kids when they were
pre teens. It was great and we got lots of miles out of it. Later we gave it to a family along with arrows, gloves etc. And I hope it is still being used.
Those bows will last several lifetimes.

Yep if she can pull it to her draw and likes the way it feels she may get the bug if not already. Jim

Thanks...Ken

That was my first new hunting bow in 1967 and I killed my first deer with it.  Same specs. too.

If your wife hates it let me know the 67 griz slot is currently empty in my collection and my wife could use a Caribou/Deer weight bow.

You need to stop dreaming about the Kodiak TD and act! By far the best TD I've ever shot. At first I didn't like the idea of owning a giansvile Bear but the bow is definitely here to stay now that I've had it out for 3D.

Well the bow arrived today and it is in very nice condition! Has one small screw hole in the front of the riser that was filled (not all that well though) but otherwise excellent. The string that came with it has to be too short though because it braces at 9 1/2" Anybody have a BH range for this little beauty? Any help is most appreciated!

Thanks...Ken

Ken, Get a 54" b-50 dacron sring and start about 73/4 inches. Shoot until string streches and keep twisting up until the bow is quiet. Rianeman makes super nice femish twist strings give him a try you will not be disappointed. Gary
