I guess I have my first project bow

I bought a '57 polar that looks like it will need some TLC.
I don't know if its the bow or the fact that it is more of a longbow than what I'm used to, but I seem to shoot it much better than my recurve and it sure hits hard.
The bad, after I strung her up the first time, I noticed a small crack in the risor under the rest area going under the leather grip.  I'll need to take the leather grip off to see the extent of the crack, but i'm a little afraid that the leather grip is holding the whole thing together. lol
The crack disappears when the bow is unstrung, & not under pressure.
I guess I'll buy some locktite tonight and string her up to fill the crack, then unstring and let it sit overnight and then take the leather grip off to see what I have.......hopefully I have enough to work with so I can then follow bowdocks restoration 101 thread.
