Could someone fill me in as to why Razorheads are no longer produced?  I have 8 or so I was going to try this year, the screw in ones.  they fly good for me and I can get them nice and sharp.

Nigel- I've used Razorheads for over forty years. Until just recently heads of similar but different designs were still being produced under the Razorhead trademark but the old so-called "greenies" were discontinued around thirty years ago and replaced with a stainless model and then yet another stainless model shortly thereafter- each was called a Super Razorhead but most of the faithful felt they were something less than "super" compared to the originals carbon steel heads. The Bear Archery that produced the early Razorheads hasn't been the same Bear Archery for many years and the catalogue of items produced and marketed by the company (whoever it was owned by at a given time) has grown progressively smaller, especially as it applies to traditional gear. Don't worry though, if you like them there are literally millions of them out there. I expect to use them til I can no longer hunt and I'm nowhere near hanging it up.    Grant

Thanks, for the info Grant.  I just got done watching the full Fred Bear video collection I bought from 3 Rivers.  Was wondering what ever happened to Fred's "monster" he used to produce the Razorheads?

Great post by Grant, he is right on.

The original Bear Razorheads are good and I still use them. The carbon steel sharpens better than the stainless, in my opinion.

However, there are a number of heads on the market, stronger than the earlier Bear heads which are getting pricey online. You may find some information on heads by doing a search on TG.
