Super Kodiak Question
« on: February 05, 2010, 09:51:00 PM »
Guys,

I'd really like to find a 70's green futurewood with blue stripe SK. I've been keeping my eyes open in all the usual places but it seems the ones I see don't really have the same green wood as the Kodiak Magnums. Did Bear indeed make a SK with the green Futurewood and a blue stripe and I've just not found one yet?

I'm clearly no expert at this and would appreciate any help you guys could offer.

Thanks,
CJ

I agree, Don't think the SK was ever offered in the Green Futurewood.

You could look at a Kodiak Hunter they would be 60" and they are quite plentiful in that color combo.

No they did not make a green one that looked like the Kodiak Mag. The 75 and 76, especially the 76 had a handle with a dark green-ish hue to it. The limbs are black. And those are the blue stripe S.K. models.

Maybe the takedowns were in green.  I don't know but I've never seen a green Super Kodiak in my lifetime.

My '76 SK with blue stripe is grey with no greenish hue.  A green SK must be an odd duck.

At least I feel a little better about not being able to find one. I'll just start looking for a blue stripe and not worry so much about the wood color.

What years would the odiak hunters have been made? The ones in Green with the blue stripe of course.

Thanks for all the input guys!

That '70 is just like mine, JCJ, except I camo painted it to hunt this season. No snow down here.    :)

I would like to have it refinished or refinish it myself.OH ,Sorry I have A '69 super kodiak 50# that has small hair line cracks.t I cannot feel with my finger nail . I have not strung this bow in over 20+ years.I am the orignal owner. I shot my first two deer with this bow.I would like to shoot it again.I am hessitant in stringing it up. I draw 29.5".Any help in directing me to someone that can do the job and bring this bow to its orignal condition, I would be greatful. The bow has been stored in the garage an is very solid I have stressed the limbs against my knees and they flex nicely.

What year would a 60 inch red stripe with red tips and Fascor probably be?  I picked up a LH 50# and I am really impressed with the way it shoots.  I think I want pick up a lighter one and a heavier one if I can find them.

The '69 I have has a stabilizer screw hole ,brass coin .The logo sk is on the back of bow the grayling logo is on the belly of the bow, white riser over lays and white tips. The serial # starts w/kz9 I had read that the K signifies '70 I did not graduate 8th grade until '70 I used this bow during archery class in school pryer to grad in '70 so I question the k s signifigence in determining year ?
