Show pics of cool vintage arrows
« on: February 21, 2010, 12:55:00 PM »
I'll start.
Someone put a lot of love into this arrow around 1950....................

The plastic nock is one of the earliest I have seen-wish they still made them like that.......

The pic could be better; but you can see how the fletcher trimmed the quill end with a knife to make it flush with the cedar shaft.

Ron Roehrick asked me to post this beautiful pair of early Sweetlands tipped with period Pearson Deadheads

Lots of mojo right there!

I had a closer look at the nock on my arrow it is not plastic it is bone!
Here's a better pick.

Mike, the broadhead is a late 40's Zwickey.

Here is a Sweetland arrow from the early 60's

This is a four fletch, beautifully crested and done in matching green turkey feather

And signed by Bill Sweetland and Glenn St. Charles

Hey guys, lets keep this going.  I love to see arrows from the past.  I have been wanting to copy a few old patterns for some future arrows for myself.

Bjorn, thanks for the nice comment.  Here is a pic of the one and only deer my father killed with those arrows.  I even have the Bear Broadhead he did it with.  The picture was taken in Bath County Virginia.  Do you guys know what bow that was he shot.  I use to shoot it as a teenager and ended up breaking it as i strung it one day.

Great pic! Looks like a 1956 Kodiak Special to me. Airplane prop silencers, Kwickee bow quiver and bear broadheads.
I can't get a fix on the other bow.

Beautiful set up! The Cub looks and sounds like it may be a 62. A few more pics maybe?
