Kodiak Magnum ??'s
« on: March 22, 2010, 03:58:00 PM »
When one of my early hunting mentors went on to greener pastures he left me his old bows. One is this Kodiak Magnam. My first question is what year is it.My second question is do you think it's a good candidate for restoration.I not sure that i will be able to shoot it as I draw 29+ inches and have never done well with short bows, but I feel it deserves to be restored to it's early beauty. It has four sets of site holes one on the front and one on the back that need to go and some bad dents near the quiver bolt but other than that it's in pretty good shape. All opinions are welcome. Finally I'm looking for recamendations for someone to do the restore if I decide to go that way.

Thanks!!!!!!
Mitch

1962 for sure. The holes definately hurt the collector value but if straight should shoot real good. Try shooting the bow and if it stacks too much at your draw then sell it to one of the guys above. They are both good guys.

I like the 62 more than many other KMs.If it is a special bow for you restore it,it is a good shooter too; I like them and I draw 29" myself.

Thanks guys for the info.I will try shooting it in the near future. It was a gift from a friend so I wouldn't feel right about selling it though thanks for the interest. If I can't shoot it maybee I'll trade it for a bow of similar vintage that I can.I think my friend would understand        Still thinking about restoreing it!!
