Liberty Chief or Dwyer Dauntless??
« on: December 09, 2007, 02:48:00 PM »
Which of these two great bows would you choose if you could only have one? I shoot 47#@28" and 64"or62" bows. I shoot carbon arrows weighting about 500 grains.Which is faster and points and shoots where you look?  Thanks for the help. Ken

Ken, I have never shot a Dwyer but have owned a Liberty.  Excellent accuracy, and speed at my short draw length.  Hopefully someone with some experience with a Dwyer can give some input.  Mark

They're both excellent bows.  I've shot a Liberty Chief and a Dwyer longbow, not the Dauntless, which has more reflex/deflex than the longbow.  It will have more reflex/deflex than the Chief as well.  Dwyer riser will be a little shorter and the limbs a little narrower toward the tip.  Workmanship on each is top notch.  Glad I don't have to make the decision.  Good luck.

Ken,
I have a Dauntless that is 47# and 62". Very smooth, quick and quiet bow. Owned a Liberty at one time. Both are great bows. The Dwyer is a quieter and smoother bow in my opinion. Liberty's have a better finish job. I like the Dwyer grip better.

Ken, I agree with Bob on the speed aspect.  The Dwyer will be quicker.  They are both quiet.  Fit and finish would probably be a slight edge to the Liberty, both nice though.  The Liberty grip would be similiar to the Classic you sold me.  The Dwyer is a little smaller in circumference and more contour.

Love both of my Dauntlesses. Mine are 64" models, which are no longer offered. Very smooth draw, wuick and quiet. 62" model should give you a few more fps, but I don't think much.
Great bows for a great price from great folks.
