Bear Polar brace height?
« on: June 06, 2010, 01:16:00 PM »
I am making a string for a 1967 Bear Polar recurve target bow thats 69" AMO and was wondering about the brace height its 8 1/2". It seems a little high but it fills the string grooves completely. I couldnt find info in the catalog.

The 3 Polars I have had experience with are all older bows with a lower brace height, but it seems my later 60's Bear bows all have a higher brace close to what you've got on your 1967.  (a couple of Grizzlys and a Cub with a good bit of recurve.)  I'd start there and adjust it a bit.
