What did I find?
« on: July 31, 2010, 02:18:00 PM »
Was out checking out "antique" stores with my daughter and came across an old quiver loaded with arrow in various states of distress, decided what the heck and brought it home.
The quiver is a Cravotta Bros. Black Hawk. It will clean up fine with a little elbow grease and Neets foot oil. In the bottom of the quver was a bonus leather pocket/belt quiver.
The arrows are 11 Micro Flite #4 with Bodkins,7 #5 with Bear two blade(no inserts but have the slots, 16 various alum. with the same Bear heads, and Micro Flites in #3,4, & 5 with nibs as well as 14 alums with nibs.
The arrows are all too short for me to shoot but the short arrows will be for the 3 kids I am teaching at this point. Are the Micro Flites worth selling? Same with the Micros with the Bear heads. Will pull some of the Bears to hunt this fall with my '62 Grizz.
The Micro's look to be made of a fiberglass. Don't know anything about them but will lesten to those who know. Thanks for any info.

Micro Flites are valuable, probably less so if cut real short. How long are they?

All the arrows are 28" BOP.

Any idea on what the arrow might bring? Would sell them as a matched set with the Bodkins. Also the other shafts with the nibs.

No idea about what they might bring.  Best thing to do is to go to the auction site we must not name and check under the "completed item" section to see what others have sold for.

Those arrows are pretty light to have broadheads on them.  The number 7's would be for about a 45# bow,, and that is a legitimate hunting weight, bu the 3's and 5's would be spined for bows in the target range.

Now, if you are going to be teaching kids, those light arrows would be perfect for that, except for the broadheads.

Micro flite arrows are pretty close to being indistructable and are great for the abuse kids will put them through.

Just my thoughts.

The most important part of your hunting setup is the broadhead.  The rest is just the delivery system.

Thanks, Jack. The Bodkins are a small head, almost look good for groundhogs, rabbits, etc. Will weigh the arrows and probably use them for the kids-not that they would abuse them or anything.
 Thanks for the insight.
