Bear Mag TD Rubber "Rug" Alternatives
« on: August 03, 2010, 11:54:00 AM »
Recently acquired a B-Mag TD Handle that is setup to be shot from a brush rest instead of the adjustable strikeplate and Rubber Rug Rest. I would like to shoot it from the shelf but can't find any of the rubber rug rests anywhere for sale. What alternatives has anyone used? I do not like the gab left between the bottom of the adjustable strikeplate and the shelf when using Velcro or Bearhair. Would like something thicker.

Thanks.

I used a think felt that you can buy at wally world or Home Depot for the sticking to the bottom of chairs and tables to keep them from scratchng wood floors.  They come in varying thickness depending on the weight/laod expected.  it can be cut in any size shape.  Check out the pick of the one i just made for my B handle.

I have a Bear Hair rest on mine and it works great and is very quiet. The fuzzy side of heavy-duty velcro should work as well -- that's what I am going to try on another one I have.

I'm using heavy duty velcro on both the shelf and strike plate and it seems to be working well...Not sure if the heavy duty velco is thicker than regular velcro or not...Good luck...
