Bear Tape-on quiver ?
« on: August 30, 2010, 08:33:00 AM »
Did the tape on version of the Bear leather top quiver come in different lengths.

Picked up one and tried it on a 59 Kodiak and when I position the bottom tab below the leather wrap handle the upper tab shows in the site window.

hummmmm now I'am not saying they came in different lengths I'am just saying I have a longer then normal length tape on ? I believe the bottom bracket should tape on in the same place as if your bow had a quiver bushing which is normaly in the leather grip ? which places the upper bracket onto the limb rather then in the sight window. If you choose to mount it onto the leather grip its best to use some rubber from a bike tube to wrap it first. Then the tape will not distory your leather grip ? bd

The Tape on was only advertised in one length. Only ever remember seeing just one length of Tape On.

Doc is correct, the photograph shows the quiver about 2" too low. Just need to move it up higher on the bow a couple of inches.

Is that a 64" 1959 Kodiak that is 50# or less?

Totally out of my area of expertise, if I even have an area of expertise, but it seems to me that you have it positioned wrong.  The flat points of the bracket should be tapet to the right side of the bow, not to the back of the bow.

That way the metal would not be in as much contact with your fingers.

Of course you may hafe set it in the picture like you have it just to illustrate where you were trying to position it on the riser.

I susspect the 64" with the longer sight window than the 60" is the culprit here.
I have found that a couple stretchy thin rubber tourniquets, not the thicker velcro type.(try a pharmacy) works well for attaching these.
On and off easily, with no tape residue.
