I'm trying to identify the year of production on my grandfather's bow that I've had for some time now. It has a Cat# 964 with a serial number of K-761. It has green glass on the belly and brown glass on the back. I know it's either 1958, 1959, or 1960; but, I can't narrow it down.
I'm contemplating the restoration of this piece, as I think it still has some mojo yet to give. There are no "stress" cracks on the back; but, the belly is another bowl of issues! No signs of any horizontal cracks only the vertical ones of which, I don't think are down into the wood. There is a twist on the upper limb that will have to be addressed as well. Wish me luck.
Oh by the way, I just got my grandfathers Bear back quiver, his six of his hunting arrows tipped with Hilbre's and Bear heads. And three practice arrows in another belt quiver that has an Indian embossed on it. All of the arrows appear to be of his design (cresting and fletching)! This is just way too cool!
Thanks in advance for any info you can steer my way.
