Stabilizer bushing

When you are refinishing a bow do you remove the stabilizer bushing or work around it.  How would you remove it?  In this case it's a Bear Super Kodiak.  Thanks

Don Ward restored a 69 super k that had a bushing then filled the hole looks great without it. as far as removing it screw a bolt into it then heat the bolt, a little wiggle will do it.

i just tackled this one - heated a bolt over stovetop and screwed it in till it spun the bushing... then pulled with pliers. worked like a charm.
.55 cent bolt.
