« on: December 05, 2010, 03:04:00 PM »
I am going to buy a Stemmler Mogul 1 bow. But I have never heard of the company. It looks to be in good condition. Can anyone tell me about this and what it is worth?
thanks alex

Lew Stemmler made bows from The early teens to the 70s or maybe the 80s.(not sure when he stopped).I believe Stemmler archery originated in Queen Island New York.??He went from building the D style English longbow to your present laminated recurve bows.I've only seen a few of his laminated recurves. They seem to be well built. At one time he was the largest archery tackle manufacture in the USA

It is not worth a fortune as they made plenty. They did not advertise much in the sixties and came back in the early 70's. If you like it buy it. They had some good looking recurves with nice tip overlays. You can spot a Stemmler a mile away by the tip overlays.
