Wing P1 question? And now with pics...
« on: January 12, 2011, 03:04:00 PM »
Fellas,
I don't visit the collector forum much but I have an Old P1 Wing that I beleive is early 61/62 serial #1962... It is the 69" what looks to be Rosewood handle with the extra riser swirved overlay on front and back but there is no letter P but just the serial # ...Anyway I got it several years ago and sent a pic to Bowdoc and if I remember he said he knew of a fella that makes these labels or stickers for them or possibly had some...It does look as if it had a 1/2" wide by 1 3/4" rectangler label on the back upper overlay due to a little non yellowing area there...Was that the label or did it have the triangler style below the scrip around that time frame?  I have a fella interested in this bow but said the label will make it more collectible if it had those labels...It is very good cond.but just doesn't have those labels...Can someone give me an idea where I might find a label and where to fix it on...I can send a pic of it to an email address if that would help...This isn't the outlaw one but has the same look if you know what I mean...Thanks and God Bless, Keefer's <")))><

I can tell you this: The 1963 wing Presentation had a triangular decal(just like Rainemans pic) on the shooter side of the lower limb, handle was rosewood, and was sold in 62", 66" and 69". Sold for 100.00 in 1963. It was simply called Presentation "the professionals bow" There was not a P1 name was designated.

Hold a doubled Kleenex or a white gun cleaning patch over the flash.  Cuts down the glare on close up bow shots.

For a high wrist long draw shooter like me I can just imagine that bow would shoot lights out from the first arrow. The rug and side plate may not look all that appealing but they too ought to shoot very nicely for a very long time.

You ever wanna sell this bow you know where to look.

Dave that bow was listed in the classifieds for over a month...Started at $390.00 shipped t.y.d. and just completed a sale with a repeat Tradganger for $250.00 To His Door....I wasn't trying to sell it on this forum just asking questions and it was over the classifieds...Surprised no one went and checked it out...Oh well the deal is sealed...She sure is a beuty of a bow but no sence in it just hanging around...She was made to be shot...  :D

I own the carbon copy to this bow, except mine is 66", also 44# with serial number P-01.

The Wing Presentation I does not look at all like the above two bows. It is the second bow from the left in the following picture.

As an interesting side note, the Presentation I was designed by Bill Stewart after Bob Lee hired him away from Bear Archery. One can see the resemblance between the Presentation I and the Bear Tamerlane, also designed by Bill Stewart.

Nice photo's Kelly..Yeah my old one wasn't like niether of those above but now mine is heading to AR. as I type this to a fella named Bryan ...He will be pleased with the rosewood in the riser cause mine looked darker in real life but for some reason it looked orange color on the photo's I had taken...It's nice to see these  50 year old bows still around and getting attention...Keefer's <><
