Repair or replace?

I have an old American ARCHERY recurve that has great looking wood in the riser,and doesn't show much use over-all the one draw back is both limb tip overlays are cracked right in the string saddles,it doesn't look any deeper than that, can the overlays be repaired as they are and how or will they need replaced?THANKS in advance.

The overlays are generally replaced, not repaired. It is commonly done, and there are folks on here that can walk you through it, or you can find someone to do it.

Sorry but I am pitifully inadequate with computers and the posting of pictures,the cracks are too narrow to get a fingernail in and are from one side to the other of the bottom(larger part)of the overlay,and would be directly under the string loop if the bow were strung.Hope this helps.

The tip overlays can be removed and a new set intalled. If you are un-sure how to do it a number of guy's on this site can do it and they can check the entire bow over for you to make sure that it is sound all around.
