Which Quiver for the A Mag?
« on: March 07, 2011, 05:32:00 PM »
I did a search ,but honestly, don't know what to ask for....4 arrow leather top bolt -on?? the brownish colored ones . Do I need that special "adapter" that screws into the front bushing? Thanks to the experts out there.....you guys ALWAYS come through with answers and generosity.

Here is what I did for a quiver. I modified a bolt on compound quiver by shortening it and using a spring arm top from an 8 arrow model and a bottom off the standard converta 4 arrow quiver. I had to do some cutting and bending on the spring arm. I also had to remove and weld the mounting brackets in a different location on the spring arm. I didn't like the position of the hood on the factory quiver. I'm currently modifing a 8 arrow bolt on the same way but making it into a 5 or 6 arrow. The extra length makes the quiver hold the arrows better with less vibration. IMHO The bow feels much better with my verson vs the factory model.

Here is another picture showing how the arrows are moved up higher on the bow.

Top left-4 arrow single bolt
Top middle- 4 arrow short arm doesn't fit too short
Top right- 4 arrow long, perfect arms past the       latches
bottom left-8 arrow double arm, upper arm is too short
bottom middle- 8 arrow long upper arm- med arm would also work, adapter on bottom bracket
bottom right- 4 arrow(right hand, don't have a LH) this works real well

side bolt below the grip can be used, however the adapter moves the bottom of quiver out from the riser.
Sometimes a foam or leather pad can be glued to the backside of the hood if it contacts the riser.

Monte, That looks great. Is there still that adapter in front and bolted into the side? Did you use shrink tube on the spring arm?

Ron, thanks a bunch, that clears it up. Is the adapter just a piece of plate bent at ninety with 2 holes?

Chad,
I used the adapter to move the quiver bottom away from the bow. My spring arm is bent so that the arrows in the quiver are parallel with the bow string. The adapter is a thin piece of metal bent at 90 degrees with a hole to mount it to the stabilizer hole. The adapter has a stud on it with a brass knurled nut to attach the quiver bottom to it.

The problem with my set up is that I used three quivers to get what I wanted but to me it was worth it!

Forgot to add that I did not use heat shrink tubing on the spring arm. It was a spray on rubber coating from Lowe's.

Well, here's what i'm thinking: I can forge out the adapter  and upper spring arm and modify a 4 arrow single bolt with the forged spring arm???
