Need broadhead help
« on: April 17, 2011, 07:17:00 PM »
I received these 4 broadheads when my godfather passed away last year and I am curious about them. Anyone that can tell me the make, model and the age? Some of them might not be old. I have no ideas at all. I've seen the top 2 before but can't remember what they are. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

All 4 of the heads.

This one intrigues me the most. It has more of a target point with 6 blades. Almost like bleeder blades. Pretty thin metal but may be from age.

The last one seems like an older Zwickey or something.

The bottom one looks like a bear razorhead to me. I am going to guess on the top two but they look like the ben pearson deadhead. The third one may be a satellite.

Hopefully someone else chimes in.

First two are Pearson Deadheads.  They were made in two sizes.  These look like the smaller, i.e., 1 38 inches wide.  Actually, looks like you may have one of each.  The lower looks to be the 1 1/2-inch wide version.  Very good heads. The multi-blade head is a Wasp.  I had some 4-blades of the same type back in the 70s or early 80s I believe.  The blades broke off very easily.  Pretty much junk, IMO.  The last is a Bear razorhead.  Lots of different versions.  Don't know which you have.

Awesome. Thanks a bunch guys. So, don't be scared to use the Pearson's and possibly the Bear after sharpening of course. But don't bother with the wasp. Got it.

The 6 blade wasps actually worked pretty good and flew good. It really made a hole in something that didnt close up and some great blood trails. The main problem was changing blades without needing stitches. Keeping all those blades in the slots and gettin the locking rings in place was a real hazard......
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!
