Very sad day, I lost a good one.
« on: July 11, 2011, 08:46:00 AM »
This was one of my favorite bows. I will miss it dearly, but was reminded that nothing lasts forever. Fortunately I was not physically hurt, but I am upset over losing a bow that will be dang near imposible to replace at this weight, length, and rare rosewood riser. I was at full draw, and a split second away from release when POW! She went to pieces in my hand. I wonder now if this bow is repairable or if I should glue it back together and hang it on the wall

Sorry about the bow Chuck but I'm afraid it's a wall hanger now.

Chuck-

I am sorry you lost your bow, but when I saw the title I was more afraid that you lost a dog or a friend. I was kinda relieved to see it was a a bow. Sorry...

It's better to go at full draw, then to delaminate hanging on the wall.

In fact, when my time comes, I would prefer to go at full draw, instead of sitting in a Nursing home!!!

Yes it does say 70@28. Rare weight, and just an awesome bow. A person from this site sold me this bow not because he wanted to, but because he knew I was looking for a 70lb hunting bow, and that I would use it. That person lost an old friend yesterday. He wrote me a few weeks after selling me the bow to see how i liked it and explained that he felt like there was a hole in his collection. I know this was one of his favorites as well.

Migra Bill your post puts things into perspective. It was only a bow, and not a friend or pet.

Now the fun starts, I will be looking for a new bow to add to my collection   :)

Sorry about the bow Chuck, that sucks.
It was a noble death though. Don't throw it in the fireplace. You can make a very special lamp with it.
Most importantly no injuries. I will watch out for a replacement for you......philip

I share your agony. I had two go in the last month. I think Dave Reese had that bow at one time. I remember the grip was incredible.

Steve, the Grip was the best. I don't know if Dave ever owned it. I think the gentleman I got it from had it for awhile.
