??? about a 1966 Kodiak Mag
« on: July 28, 2011, 07:56:00 PM »
I went to a garage sale today and asked if they had any archery equipment for sale. The owner went in his house and came out with a 1966 Kodiak Mag.He said he priced it at $3.00 and it just sat there till someone told him it was worth more,so he took in to check on the internet to see what its worth.I gave him an offer for it and hope to here from him tomorrow.Does anyone know what type of wood is in the riser? The bow has the brown limbs with a curved stripe running through the riser. Not mint shape but no holes and very little scratches.

Thanks for your help,

David

More specifically, African Rosewood (also known as bubinga)

Here's my '66 and similar to what it should look like:

Yes Lon, there are more than one varity of Rosewood and I'm often afraid to say which species it is as more than likely I will get it wrong. I have a couple of 66 Magnums in that same weight.

I'm wrong a lot too, but   :dunno:  . There are so many types of woods with various names meaning the same.
