S grip Bear Takedown Riser
« on: September 16, 2011, 08:50:00 PM »
Can someone post a picture of a Bear riser with the "S" shaped grip.  Also, what years had this profile?

Thanks in advance!

I am patiently waiting for mine to be finished ! Not sure if you mean a modified grip or "from the factory "  such as the green stripe risers....I'm sure pics will follow.

I don't know if I have any good pics. But, the wood B handle 71 through 73 or so. Then whatever years the green stripes were made, around 80 to 90 maybe? Maybe longer into the 90's. I believe some of the newer handles were s shapes to some extent. The new red stripes I know are not s shaped. The most S shaped of the s shapes is the 71 and 72 risers.

2004 A
80-90's Green Stripers

(Sorry for the glare I had trouble keeping it off the high gloss!)

I second Kuch. Just beautiful.
Nick, would you be kind enough to check something for me regarding the New Bear T/D....A riser

Can you line up the new one with your Grayling type 1.
Side by side,shelf side up.
It looks like Bear archery moved the grip and shelf "higher up" the handle on the new model.

Higher from center if that makes sense. I dont have a modern A riser here to compare myself.
Thanks in advance.......philip

Fantastic illustration Nick.
It appears that the geometry has changed somewhat compared to the Grayling type 1.
The red stripe T/Ds are really nice,
I like them very much.
Also, your type 1 A riser is sweet. I keep looking at it and it looks better each time I see it.

When the zebrawood A riser begins to bore you, keep me in mind and we will make a trade/purchase.
You might have noticed that I have a weekness for the Bear T/D.
Thanks again Nick.....Philip

Philip,
  Glad I could help.

I am not sure the Zebra A will be hitting the road any time soon, but I will look you up if it would.
