Root Bow
« on: September 23, 2011, 07:43:00 PM »
I just got in from shooting a new to me Root Predator, it's a fun little bow.  It says a Root by Shakespeare so assume this bow was made shortly after Ernie Root partnered with Shakespeare.  I'd be interested in what year this bow was made and any other Root history people may have.  Here are the specs and some pictures:  SN A0251, 54" 45+ lbs.

I can narrow it down to 1971 to 1973. Shakespeare continued to sell the root models for the first few years after they took over and they were marked ROOT by Shakespeare. After that the bows had Shakespeare Wonderbow markings. It is only a guess but yours could be a 1972 or late 1971 model.

Great looking bow Jay!  I bet it gets some use in the turkey blind next spring!
