Help ID this bow plz
« on: October 03, 2011, 10:02:00 PM »
So i just came across this bow. Any ideas on make?

It has worn off decal - lower limb front
and the specs - only weight and draw length - are center back lower palm area.

any info would be cool. i'm gonna sand and spray as there is exposed wood where the finish is gone. it had some old sights on it. it measures 56", but not written on the bow. there is some tape residue on upper site window where site was taped down.

I almost said Deluxe Composite which is just a Browning but with the serial number and such stamped in it I am going to guess Gordon's Plastics

So it seems there is a tie to Browning... I found this regarding Gordon co.:

During the early 60's the three brothers were approached by Browning Arms to produce a line of hunting bows under the Browning name, which they agreed to do. Shortly after this time, they discontinued their line of bows and produced bows only for Browning Arms, Co. After three or four years, they turn-keyed all bow manufacturing over to Browning, and concentrated on producing Bo-tuff laminate for general use within the archery industry. Browning's bow business was purchased by a major manufacturer with the industry and is still being produced today.

Thanks again!

Yep. Gordon and Wing made bows for a bunch of other companies. And the bow here is a plain Gordon. Dont know the year or model. I have versions of a King Queen and Knight all looking like your bow. Being 56" it is probably the Knight. Jim

Nice. Thank you. I saw a pic of a Gordon decal - looked like an old seal -  And matches shape of missing finish , which is coming off quite a bit.

I have a King, 68" I believe. Those old Gordons were nice shooters.
We are all here because we are not all there.
