The crack in the rizor doesen't bother me as much as those 2 holes in the limbs. I want to string it up and shoot it so bad but........

Very nice find! Congrats!!
I say string it up and shoot if you want to. The holes and crack are not a problem in my eye.......................and it is only 36#.
Love that sight window.

Cool Bow.

Bargain Price.

Cut an inch off of each end and put new tips on it  and make it into a 55# 54" 1960 Butcher Block Kodiak.

Or cut two inches off each end and it would be more in your weight range and only 52" long so sort of a poor man's Butcher Block Kodiak Magnum.

Whatever you decide to do with it, leave as is, fix it up or cut it off, I bet it will be the only one of its type on your block.

Doug.
You don't want that bow. It has 2 holes in it!

I'll help you out. Send it to me and I will give you a different bow with no holes.....

Congratulations! Great find.

Gorgeous wood in that riser. The over all condition after clean up (excluding the holes) would actually be very nice.

Doug -

If you are having buyer's remorse on that 36# 56" 1960...

I'll tell you what I always like to tell my friends who are thinking about selling a bow -

If you don't want that bow, I'll give you a chance to get half your money back...     :)

Doug -

I am right handed but have a couple of LH Kodiaks that are not really part of my collection.

The 1959 is 56" and has a crack in shelf area about like your 36# 1960.

The 1960 is 36# 60" with badly twisted limb, some delamination that could be fixed with loc-tite, and a junk finish. The year Al passed away, I was going to give him this bow at Compton, but he passed away that year before that event happened.

Neither bow has any holes....

But then neither is as cool as your 36#.

Sometimes a guy just has bows for no apparently good reason.

Doug, you got a rare bow for a good price hands down.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you have a good eye.  Enjoy it...that is what they were made for.

Doug that is a tremendous find.  Congratulations!!  That's a beautiful bow!

Wade, I'd offer you half your money back on that 1959 that you have for no reason!

P.S.  How is the deer hunting where you are located?  The whitetails around the northwestern part of the state look really good this year.  I have some good trail cam pics of some exceptional deer and can't wait for next year.

ceme24 -

You really stepped into it on that one. I wish I could say that I was smart enough to have planned it that way.

I bought that bow at the height of prices on auctions under the premise that the bow was mint, and when only a couple of 56" 1959s were known to collectors and none were left hand... and paid an unbelievable 4 figure sum that would be more then embarrassing to mention now.

When I discovered the bow had a crack in it something like Doug's the seller would not take it back and I was stuck with the worse deal in all of my years of collecting.

I'll let you off the hook on your offer to give me half my money back on that bow...

For the moderators, I hope you can determine that this is joking, not serious trading nor selling, although all the facts mentioned are true.
