HELP! stabilizer inserts in limbs of super kodiak
« on: December 13, 2011, 06:36:00 PM »
I just bought a 1971 Super Kodiak that was used by a target shooter. It has two small holes in the riser overlays for a sight, and it has an insert for a stabilizer bar in the back of each limb just above the riser. Was this a factory option or did the owner have this done? The limbs are very straight and the weight is 48#@28". I want to restore this bow and hunt with it. Can I remove these inserts and fill the holes then paint them black before spraying the clear coat? I just want to make it look original. I know I could put a snake skin on it but I'd like it to look original. Just wondered if anyone had come up against this and how they dealt with it. Thanks, Rob.
