brace height on a youth bow?
« on: December 13, 2007, 07:31:00 AM »
I'm FINALLY finishing my nephews bows. 48" board bows. I made a "test string" and twisted it to a brace of about 4", but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. What does anyone recommend as a brace for this short of bow?

Thanks,
Ron

At minimum 4 inches. Set the arrows the boy will shoot on the bow, if the feathers rub then adjust the brace height. If they do not rub 4 to 5 inches shood be fine. Also look at the bow and see if it looks like to much. Meaning does it look over stressed or like it is half drawn already.I usually brace around 4 to 5 inches.

Thanks Nugget. It looked a little under braced at 4", but I wasn't sure. After I get the arrows put together I'll see how it looks.
