Kodiak hunter

Saw the post on 1963 bears does anyone have a picture of a 1971 Kodiak hunter? That's the year I was born and the KH is for some reason the most shoot-able of the bears for me, would like to start looking for one, any identifiable colors, serial #'s or I.D. info would be helpful and appreciated,THANKS.

Prettiest of the hunters and my first brand new bow purchase.

1971- 60" only- Shedua/Bubinga riser with Arctic Gray fiberglass - White limb tip and White overlay. Serial # begins with KT.  Stabilizer insert was standard.

This one is either a 71 or 72. I can't remember which and I no longer have it to check.

   
     
   

After looking at the pictures I believe this one is a 72. The 71 would have the Kodiak Hunter silkscreen on the back. This one might be a 71.

Jack, I think that is a 71 Hunter. I have the same, RH in 45#. They are nice shooters and pretty, but I'm partial to my 68 KH.

 I've owned all the years of Kodiak Hunters at one time or another but never could get used to the high wrist grip of the early ones. I still have a couple 67s on the rack though.

I shot a friends '71 for a day.  I couldn't miss with it.  Could've just been one of those days, but that bow just worked for me that day.

Interesting thread, I too was born in '71 and was thinking of getting a Bear that was also. Those Hunters sure are pretty. How much would a decent one run?

Prices vary depending on the insanity of the buyer. I have a pre-70 model I bought for $35 and a 76 or 77 model I got off of a member here for $115 thankfully they aren't on the high end of the collector market but I have watched pristine examples go in the $300 range on the big auction site,THANKS for the info guys.

I've watched those auction and classifieds sites for Bear bows over the years and have determined that the Kodiak Hunter and the Kodiak magnum are the two most common Bear bows listed.  

I do not know the numbers made, but those two are obviously great sellers for Bear.

I own a few KH's. You can't go wrong with a KH. Toughest Bear bow ever built if you ask me. I love the grip!

Thanks guys. I think my next older bow is gonna be a Hunter. I have a newer Grizzly and an '80s era Kodiak I got from Jack that is a pretty sweet shooter. These bows seem to grab hold of ya for sure...

 Can't go wrong with a Kodiak Hunter. The 1970-72 are my favorites as far as looks and shooting.
