Bear SK riser
« on: March 27, 2012, 10:01:00 AM »
Maybe a dumb question, can a t/d be made out of an SK riser? The limbs had bubble spots on it and delamed, but the riser is still good. bow is a 1970 I believe.

I don't think there is enough wood in the top of the riser to allow inserts for the bolts due to the long window.
Did both limbs delaminate? If only one then use the good limb to build a form. Grind glass off the riser of the broken end and mount new limb to riser. This is if the fadeout (red strip) is still useable.
Or cut both limbs off and use the riser as a door handle and get another SK. There's a bunch of them to be had and the price is less than trying to rebuild....unless you really want a learning experience.
