Golden Sovereign Catalog
« on: April 28, 2012, 10:10:00 AM »
Anybody know if Ben Pearson published a separate catalog of his Golden Sovereign line? He never included this line in his regular Ben Pearson catalog, and I can find no information about whether there are any old Golden Sovereign catalogs out there.

Rich, what year is that catalog? 1963, or older?

1964
Lord Mercury (no Lady model?)
Lord Sovereign
Lady Sovereign
Golden Emperor
Golden Conqueror
Golden Crusader
Amster Training Bow

1965
Lord Mercury
Lord Sovereign
Lady Sovereign
Lady Mercury
Golden Emperor
Golden Troy (for 24"-27" draws)
Golden Conqueror
Golden Knight
Golden Scot
Amster Training Bow (4# draw weight)

No Deadheads in this one, but they're in the 1965 Pearson catalog (maybe older ones, too?). So I was surprised to see Bear Razorheads in this catalog - $4.50 a dozen for single blades. Young feather trimmer $19.95, Bitzenburger Perfection model $19.95, Easton XX75 finished arrows $34.50/dozen, shafts without points $25.80, etc.

1966
Lord Mercury
Lady Mercury
Lord Sovereign
Emperor
Prince
Conqueror
Knight
Lance
Scot
Mace
Baron
Duke

Some new models, and some with the "golden" dropped from the name (Emperor, Knight, Scot, Conqueror)

Deadheads appear in this year's catalog.

1967
Lord Mercury
Lady Mercury
Mercury Hunter
Lord Sovereign
The Prince
"Three deadly hunters"
Knight
Falcon
Mace
"All-purpose bows"
Scot
Baron
Duke

This year's catalog is called just "Sovereign".
Still carrying Bear Razorheads, MA-3 Deluxe three blades, and round-vent deadheads

Speaking of all-purpose bows, it looks like that fella's got a crab mallet for a stabilizer.

1968

Lord Mercury
Lord Sovereign
Prince
Mercury Hunter
Falcon
Mace
Scot
Baron
Duke

I'm not sure if that list is complete.

As far as I know, 1968 was the end of the line for the Sovereigns, except some models went on in the Pearson line (e.g. the Mercury Hunter & Lord Mercury), and the Falcon became the Predator and the BP-H70.

Do you have any information on the brace height of the Pearson sovereign bows?
