As I'm slowly going through my collection I came across this 2 page letter from Earl to Roy Case dated 1933. Kind of interesting as Earl is referencing a recent tournament and saying he never expected Hoogerhyde to repeat. I seem to remember another correspondence from Earl to I believe E. Bud Pierson. I will post a photo of it also when I come across it.

I need to bump this up for a bit of good news, for me at least.
I was able to aquire a set of premium yew billets this weekend that had been cut in 1945 by Mr.Ullrich and then sold to Mr.StCharles and then to my friend who is not building many bows these days.
My friend told me about some personal hand writen letters that he had from Mr.Ullrich. I will see if I might procure them or get the jist of the purpose. Very cool to spend time with the guys that had a part in the begining of our glory days of Archery.
I hope to build a worthy bow from the billets this next winter.

Cliff, Did you make any headway on the bow you mentioned in your original post??
