What has been your best "find"?
« on: May 31, 2012, 02:37:00 PM »
Ive been an on and mostly "off" again Bear collector.  A few years ago I found a walnut riser Compass Kodiak in an antiques store for $20!  What was your best find?  It doesnt have to be a Bear item,  either something rare, or that you got dirt cheap.

Hello Sean B
One time I bought a bunch of arrows in the bunch I found some wrapped in paper with a rubber band.  The rubber band was deteriorated to the point it broke as soon as I tried to remove it.  I almost through away the paper, but unrolled it instead and this is what I found.

Mid 70's Bear K-hunter 45#, for $40 in a gun shop.Real nice shape....I hunted it for 2-3 years traded it a couple of times and sold it twice. My shooting buddy still has it.

A 1962 Kodiak for  $65.00 at a trapper gathering. . .

That bow kick-started my collection.   It gets kind of addicting.

I got a Black Widow X-85 for free at a flea market about 10 years ago.  The guy threw in the bow for free after I bought the assorted archery stuff he had for sale.
