Shane - the quickest way to get Sam's great thread shut down is to involve any inkling of $$$$.  Even in jest!!!

We can discuss value here, but never let it stray in the direction of trades, sales, etc.

Let's keep it on the path!

Congrats to Shane and Danny!  A signed riser and a mint riser....doesn't get much better than that!

It's good to see a couple of the "old plus new" combos on this thread.  What I'm referring to are the Mag handles mated with Sid's Border "Bear" limbs.  Congrats Andrew (Wolfkiss) and Nick (OldSchoolArcher) (love that avatar Nick!).

It took a while for my early (A-00331) AMag riser and the Border limbs to warm up to one another!  But once everything came together, I can only describe the pairing as "Warp Factor 6 Mr. Sulu"!  Although I can't quite get the pairing quiet at the brace height Sid recommended, the bow is crazy fast and quiet where its at.  A whole new level for Bear takedowns!  Anyone who's had the experience of shooting one of the Border Archery bows with Sid's modern HEX limbs has an inkling of what this combination is like.

Congrats OBXarcher; I want to see the pictures! The $3000 comment was a joke spawning off what John did to me through text. I still wouldn't sell it unless I had a stickbowman locked down and was hard up. You are very correct it "doesn't get much better than that". I am very very happy, and found that I like shooting the bow better than the new Takedown B handle. I posted my "first shot" today.

this is very informative,Q: do the factory mounted sights decrease the value even if they are <#2000?

Hi Robert. Received your pm.
These are just my thoughts.
I won't say that factory sights decrease value of vintage wood risers. They are all special and some prefer the factory sight option.
Personally, I prefer solid risers with no provisions for sights and these seem to be more desirable to others as well.
Hope I helped a little.

I've said it before - this is one of my favorite all-time threads on TG - and I've been here a while  :)
Not only because I've got the Bear T/D bug real bad - but because of all you guys taking the time to make these great posts!

Thanks to you all - and keep 'em coming!
