Original Bear Take Down Bow...
« on: September 30, 2012, 10:15:00 AM »
This item, currently on E**Y (Item 221130756526), is described as follows:

"THIS IS AN ORIGINAL TAKE DOWN BEAR BOW IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND PERFECTLY STRAIGHT.

IT IS FULLY FUNCTIONABLE WITH A NEW STRING AND CARRY CASE

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO THINK THERE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE LITTLE BROWN BEARS ON THE LATCH OF THE LIMB POCKET.......NO NO NO NOT ON THIS BOW THERE NEVER WERE ANY ON THIS EARLY MODEL AND THEY ARE NOT REMOVED OR MISSSING. THERE ARE NO HOLES THAT HAVE BEEN DRILLED IN IT AND REPAIRED. THIS BOW IS IN ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION LIKE IT SAYS!!!

SERIAL #IS A-1169"

Is that correct about the little bears? In one of the photos, one can see the hole on the yoke where the bear is usually fixed.

I agree with LittleKodiak59 on the Bears. Did you also notice the seller raised the starting bid from $1,200 to $2,000 after he became "educated"? He doesn't explain where he gets his information.
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

Also noticed the price increase. When nobody bites at $1200? So what do we really have here? A refinished handle? I know what I want on a handle, but my education on the different models is limited.

The guy put it back on and it's climbing! I knew it was a shady deal.

It's back again! This time the vendor has omitted the photo that shows that at least one of the little brown bears on the yokes is missing.

The pattern of bids also looks extremely unusual- huge increases, not the orderly increase in amounts that is generally the norm.

I emailed this to the seller of this bow on E--y:

"II see.you've relisted this item only this time you have omitted the photo that shows one of the little brown bears on the yokes is missing.

This item simply is not in "excellent", original condition if one of the bears is missing and you do not point this out.

You also failed to post my original inquiry about this in your first listing of the item that ultimately did not sell.

Your conduct in this does not seem entirely open and transparent to me."
