Javilina Calls
« on: December 14, 2007, 06:12:00 PM »
Last Feb while hunting javilians in Texas, I man who knows what he is doing showed me how to get a second shot when I missed the first (as usual). As soon as I missed he began blowing a call (injured javilina) really loud and fast. The javilinas came charging back in as if to defend an injured friend. It was a wild scene.
Anyhow if you hunt them, have a call with you, if you miss like I do, you can get a second or third shot!
Does anyone know who makes or sells a javilina call?
John

I have had great success using this method as well.

However a javelina call is not needed. They are much harder to find than the common coyote call, which you can pick up in any sporting goods department. Some are a little more on the raspy side than others, which i prefer.

Ive called dozens of javelinato within five yards of me.....a predator call works just fine  ;)
