Well, Cody, the BEST thing to do is to send it to me.....
   :biglaugh:

OK. It looks like the riser is in need of a complete strip down and refinish. Take all of the hardware off of the riser and then strip the riser completely with strypease or another good paint remover.

You will need rags, rubber gloves, toothbrushes to get into the nooks and crannies, etc.

Then sand down any rough spots with emory paper. Then wipe the whole thing down several times with acetone. Let it dry thoroughly. Then plug all of the screw holes with toothpicks (with enough of the toothpick sticking out so you can grab it to remove it). Then spray paint it with metal primer and several coats of your favorite color.

Take your time and you will have a top notch target bow in the end. Have fun.

I have clean Bear risers up by using paint stripper and then scraping as much paint as I could off.   Once that was done, I used 120-grit sand paper to remove left-over paint.  I then finished it up by using a Dremel tool with a small wire brush attachment on it.    The dremel wire brush is great for getting into all the hard to reach places, and really seems to clean the surface up nicely.   I'm sure there are other techniqes but that has worked for me several times with no ill-effects to the bow itself.

Nice find Cody!

Before you attempt to take anything apart, clean all the crud out of the screw heads, then find the best fitting screwdriver possible, insert it into the screw heads and rap each screw with a hammer to break the bond formed by corrosion.

If you fail to do this you will often break at least one screw even on clean mag risers and it can be difficult to remedy.

Just like you would on an old carburetor or motorcycle engine.

Trust me on this....

Hi Cody after you get it stripped and cleaned up the first thing you need to do before painting is prep the metal .You will need to ether use a metal conditioner that will etch it or use a good etching primer. If you don't the paint will peel or rub off  very easy. Most of the time with just your thumbnail .This is a must do if you want a good finish. God Bless Pastor Paul.

Great find!!  I can hear it now, just like at my house: "Honey, where's my old bow?  I haven't seen it in awhile....."!!

Great Find Cody!  If you decide to refinish, please take pictures of the process and the finished product.

Good Luck and have fun!
Relax,
