Deadhead ID NEED MORE INFO PLEASE
« on: January 10, 2013, 09:45:00 PM »
I'm trying to determine how many variations of the small Pearson Deadhead are in this photo.  I think there are three, but I'm very new to this.  Thanks.

I am no expert but they look like variations of the 1965 heads.

You are right they are three variations. It's where the tip of the ferrule attatches.

ABCC numbers L to R are 200.000,200.010 and 200.020

Thanks guys.  I purchased these on the auction site because all three were being sold together.  Trying to kill three birds with one stone.  Unfortunately, the guy I bought them from had no idea that there were different variants of the heads.  The only reason it came up is because before he was going to mail them to me he asked if I wanted the shafts they were attached to.  I told him there weren't any shafts in the photo so I asked him what he is talking about.  He has said he has a bunch of small Deadheads and he photo'd a few for the ad.  I told him I want the exact heads in the photo.  In essence I want what I paid for.  I don't think I'm out of line in asking that.  He's running me around and I'm getting annoyed.

How can I describe to him what to look for on the heads so that I get the three (or three like them) that are in the photo?  Please help.  I'm close to telling him I want my money back.  Thanks.

So I can see on the left head that the vent slopes directly into the ferrule.  That's the easy one to describe.  As for the other two how would you guys describe the way the vent transitions to the ferrule?  I want to be able to tell the seller explicitly to I get the right heads.  Thanks again.

Could you send him back a picture that points out what you are talking about?

Maybe something like this?

Thank you Hobow.  That should make it very easy for him.  Now hopefully he still has them laying around somewhere.  I want to resolve this asap.

Tell him you will take all the Deadheads. Then you are covered.

raghorn I don't think he was going to be willing to give up 20 some odd deadheads for what I paid for three of them.  It's not an issue anymore.  I sent him the photo that Hobow doctored up for me and he thinks he has it straightened out.  Offered to take any returns if they aren't what I want.  Thanks for all the help guys.  I'm just starting out with this dreaded disease.  I hope my wallet can handle my enthusiasm.

From experience, I can tell you, pace your self and remember we can't have all of them     :banghead:

You are welcome.  I'm glad that you may have it straightened out.

X2 what Rick said, that's good advice...
