Collector and friend - John Polyniak 1952-2013
« on: June 23, 2013, 02:52:00 PM »
John passed away on Friday June 21,2013.
Peacefully and with family at his side.

John was a wonderful, honest and genuine human being.
His passion was the outdoors and in particular, outdoors with a bamboo fly rod and a vintage Bear bow.
John was an avid collector and historian of Bear Archery.
Those of you who knew him will agree that he was just a great guy. Very quiet and non judgmental. Always had a smile on his face and a generous person.

Rest in peace my friend and mentor.

John was an amazing outdoorsman.
His ability to understand and catch trout was amazing. His fly tying skills unmatched.
I would rather sit on the shore and just watch him fish. A real pleasure.

To bowhunt with John was simply fun!
If he saw a deer, the arrow was gone!!!! Bear razorheads ONLY!
Distance did not matter either to John and we often broke his chops about it.

John was an accomplished butcher as well. He grew up on a beef farm in the Binghamtom area of NY.

John truly loved to bowhunt.
Here is the last buck John killed using his
1960 Kodiak bow.

Thank you all for the kind and prayerful words for John.

Here's a small example of who he was........

If you were mad, he made you calm
If you are sad, he made you smile
If you needed something, he didn't wait for you to ask
If you liked to fish, he made you LOVE to fish
If you liked bowhunting, he asked......When!

This was John.

Thank you ALL for your kind and prayerful words.
John would be embarrassed by all of us talking and thinking of him. He was a very quiet, shy and humble fella.

I loved him like a brother and will never forget him as long as I live.

Tomorrow,
June 21, 2014 marks the first anniversary of John's passing.

If he were here today, he would likely be found fly fishing somewhere in the Catskill mountains of NY and the likely conversation at lunch would be about old Bear bows, PapaBear and bowhunting.

Happy 1st anniversary in heaven John.
I will never forget you!

It's always sad to lose good friends, especially good archery buddies that you have spent so many wonderful years and had such great times with. True heartfelt sadness!!
