$700. Made in early 1980s.

Am I wrong...but are the limbs marked correctly?  

If those are #2 limbs (rare for a greenstripe???) then it would not make a 60" bow on a "B" riser.

Blackhawk, the 2B is just the serial number, doesn't indicate a #2 limb as one might assume. All the green tippers were #1 limbs with the exception of the green tip or brown tip if you will long bow limbs that were made around 1984. Those make a 72" long bow on a b-handle... we could call them a #4 limb I guess. Long bow limbs really load the stress on the limb pockets, caused a lot of cracked green stripe risers. I'd only shoot them in mag handles and those may break too....

Ouch. That explains why they're not made row. I'd been wondering.

My understanding is that the lighter section in the riser is sapwood.  Many bowyers avoid using it but it does make a very unique riser.  I have seen some beautiful risers made with sapwood.

Don't take this to the bank but that is what I was told by Jack Howard as far as it being sapwood.

Phil Magestro (sic) had a gorgeous Jet with sapwood in it.

I believe your correct. Just love the contrast. The B Green stripers are lookers in my opinion..
I set mine up with #3 limbs which works very well for me!!

Awesome looking bow!  The unique wood and the fact that it hasn't been repaired and refinished should help it bring top dollar as far as green stripes go.  

It always blows me away when I see nice, original green stripes sell for less than a new Bear takedown....

  I can tell you how bad it's got recently. In March I sold a nice green stripe handle for $735 which is a record as far as I know. Last month I saw that the guy placed it back on the big site with a set of limbs, case, and quiver. I cringed as I saw the whole set up end at a whopping $495.00 Someone got one heck of a deal! I just couldn't bring myself to bid on that set up. It would have been like burying the knife in even deeper on the poor guy.

I got a grand for a green stripe but it was sighned by Papa Bear in '87 and Frank Scott in '00.  That was with a pair of proper green tipped limbs for it.

Very nice Jack! I know they went high last year. I tried to get one last year that was factory camo but the owner decided to back out even though it was on his web site for sale.     :mad:     I was not a happy camper. It was bad enough I lost most of a signature on the custom Grizzly I got from Ben Lee Jr. It was signed by Fred and given to his father. I know someone else finally got that bow out of the owners hands. I got the "Foot" and the "Shaft" on that deal.

A couple weeks ago I picked up a Bear 1970 Type I, C handle off 3bay. It came with 2 pair of white w/black tip #3 limbs, and a Bear C handle takedown case. I got it all for $660. Everything is in excellent all original condition. NO one has "tinkered" with it or scribbled on it.  No Truoil,  no stress cracks or after production holes. A sweet deal. I'm not a bow broker, so I'm not selling any of it off to try to make a buck. I got some arrows tuned for it and am  just shooting this outfit today. >>>----------> ((0))
