64 inch 1959 and 1960 Kodiaks
« on: March 30, 2014, 02:29:00 PM »
My impression is that more were made in 1959 than in 1960...I have had lots of chances to buy 59's but only one chance at a 60 which I now own...refinished with serial number DD650...kind of fits for my nickname...what do you have in the 64 inch length?

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

This is my 1960 Kodiak in 64" length.  It also has reverse limb colors, making it pretty special.

Just another puzzle from 54 years ago...was that a mistake or did someone order the bow that way...thanks for posting what may be a unique piece of Grayling Bear history

I had Bow Doc refinish it a few years ago, he thought it was a mistake that someone took out of the factory.

I have two 64" 1960's, 42 and 43lbs. If I can find another really nice one in the 30's, I sell or trade about any bow(s) to get it.

Bjorn you were going to check the serial numbers on your 60 inch ones to see if any begin with BH...I would still be interested in knowing that, thanks

Overall, 1959 Kodiaks are more common than 1960 Kodiaks in all lengths...

These 64" lengths are presently at the Arsenal...

9-1959's in 64"

... 1 Bubinga Sight Window
... 1 Rosewood Sight Window
... 1 Wedge Sight Window
... 2 Maple Sight Window
... 4 Purple Heart Sight Window

4-1960s in 64"

... 1 Butcher Block Sight Window
... 1 Wedge Sight Window
... 2 Rosewood Sight Window

This search has been ongoing for a while Bjorn so there is no such thing as late, only later...just for interests sake what coin does your BG bow/s have...I have two BH bows with copper and one with aluminum...I just hope my KD has the copper coin as I think they have a rich look to them while the aluminum ones look kind of cheap...for me it does not get any better than butcher block and copper coin

The BG bow has a copper coin and the regular sight window. Hey DD how's the moose population and tag situation?

My 64" DD 1960 I have on the way looks to have an aluminum coin. I agree Dave, the copper just has a great look to it. I'll try not to complain
