64 Kodiak Special brace height
« on: September 29, 2014, 10:19:00 PM »
Can someone tell me what the proper brace height is for a '64- 66"

Kodiak Special.  Also, can this take a fast flight string or should I

stick with  B-50.  The bow is in very good condition.

 Thanks for any help.

It seems most Bears like a 8-9" brace height, so I would put it at 8" and do some testing, looking for quietness and lack of hand shock.

I've been using some low stretch stuff like Dynaflight 97 with padded loops on old Bears with no problems.  Of course, use at your own risk, but I see no problems so far.

I just put one a '59 Kodiak Special and am impressed with the performance.

Thank you Lon. I picked this Special up over the weekend. I am going to get a string figured out for it and see how it behaves.

It has the aluminum side plate with the bristle rest on it. Should be interesting.
