Horne's Traditionalist you can't make this stuff up.
« on: December 16, 2007, 04:35:00 PM »

Received this bow from Mark and Sandy last week shipped by UPS. As you can see when the wife signed for it she didn't see the damaged tube.I hope the tire track shows up.Looks like someone ran over it with a highlow.  When I came home and saw the tube was I sick . Well I took a pair of vise grips and pulled out the cap ,took the bow out of the bow sock and couldn't believe not a scratch on her! I was amazed the tube had to be the key. This bow is a shooter too for sure.Shedua/shedua riser, maple cores, gongalvo alves veneers. She's 64"s 53#s at 28"s ,50#s at my 27" draw. Sends a 35/55 Gold Tip with a 250 grain head like a rocket. The grip fits me like a glove.I can't wait to get her in the woods.

That is amazing.  The tire track would make me think the bow tip was a goner.

Very nice bow, glad it wasn't damaged.

I'm going thru the red tape now trying to get a replacement for a Cherry console for my 52" flat screen.Somehow the shipper managed to completely crack in half the 2" thick solid cherry base of the console, not too mention ding 2 of the corners and crack one of the shelfs!!

Actually Tom I think that one was caught in the conveyor. I've seen that before on other Brown boxes.

Whew...Guess I got lucky.  Last time my wife signed for one of my bows she just threw it at me along with a few choice words.       ;)

20 years ago I was a shipping clerk for a farm implement company. I used to ship these long slender rods all the time. They went into cycle decks for cutting hay. I would ship at least 5 of the things before the farmer would get one. UPS would say they did not know what happened to them. We lost them they would say. They would reinburse our company and not worry with it. After a year of this, our general manager went off on UPS. After about a month The old UPS truck backed in opened the door and viola, About 100 of those rods. Some guy for UPS was taking them and storing them in their warehouse thinking that they were part of the conveyor system that UPS uses. Moral of this long story. When you let go of it anything can and will happen.

Man that was lucky. I get so nervous about shipping and recieving bows. I just bought one off of the classifieds and I asked if I could pay for it now and wait until after the holiday shippping madness to have it sent. As bad as I want the bow...I am hoping it wil be worth the wait to have it shipped later.
