Old bear bow maintenance grip/strikeplate
« on: October 27, 2014, 02:56:00 PM »
Is there anything recommended for leather grip and strke plate maintenance? Like conditioner, etc.
I have a couple older bows that the grips are drying up.

These are collector bows but I still shoot them.

Looking to get some opinions.

I like using Montana pitch blend.

Birchwood Casey makes a gun stock wax that is for wood, metal and leather...I find it to be a good product for my old Bears...I also use it without buffing to take the shine off a bow...then after hunting season just buff it out leaving a nice protective layer...does a great job on cordovan tabs as well making them more supple and nice and slippery for clean releases

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42
