Going to build one myself
« on: January 29, 2007, 09:04:00 PM »
Ok im tired of looking for a target thrower, so im going to build one my self. Its going to be a four target thrower, remote control, with an adjustable timers to adjust between throws and be able to adjust each arm for hight and angle of toss and be able to throw rabbits. It will operate on a 12v battery, you will be able to put it 15 to 20 feet from a car or truck and hook to the battery. You will stand at the shooting line push the remote that is cliped to your belt and 10 15 or 20 sec later what ever time you set on the first timer the first target will go off.

Ive got the eletronics drawn out and the frame in my head. I plan on using aluminum for the frame. I will build a wood, one target thrower to test the fireing and adjustability.

So as soon as I get it finshed, the next shoot i go to we are all going to have a blast. and i will be taking it from shoot to shoot.

I have been working on one for a few months now. It isn't as fancy as the one you plan on building.Mine throws up, out, and across. I throw different size disks and poof footballs the footballs go away from you like jumping a pheasant very challeging.I launch it with my foot. I am going to put it on trad gang for those that want to build there own and sell them to guys that dont want to go to the trouble. It is made from 3/4 x 1 1/2 steel tubing.

The target holder is made of lexan. You can bend it cold or apply heat carefully. The release is a swivel eye snap shackle. You can get them here

I use an eye bolt and a ring from ace hardware under the head to snap to.
