Looking for information on an old selfbow
« on: June 16, 2015, 05:50:00 PM »
Here are some pictures of an old selfbow a friend of mine found.  There are not any markings on the bow.  It looks like it is rawhide backed and the handle is rawhide.  It is also 72" long.  Is there any chance that someone might be able to tell me something about it.  Thanks.

Looks like it has mold. Wipe it down with a mild mix of bleach, detergent, and water.

Don't think I would use bleach, if the finish is thin you might darken spots you don't want to darken.

I would use a mild soap and water and a little elbow grease first.

Just use soap and water to start with and don't scrub real hard. If you really want to clean it get some Goo Gone, use it outside and try it on a small spot, first.
