New Gen 1 Thunderbirds
« on: August 10, 2015, 12:50:00 PM »
Jay is crafting some absolute beauties in 63 and 66 inch lengths and any # you want. White glass on the belly and black on the back.

Local woods in Walnut and Maple just like the originals.

Elk hide wrap to complete the picture. These are made on the original forms.

NICE!!

That white glass just looks sweet with the glue up on the woods.....
And a 66" being offered. It may very well be time for a new bow.

Thanks for the fyi post Bjorn.   :)

I knew there was a reason to put off returning to WA.

"Honey, while you're unpacking the boxes, I'm just going to slip over to Fall City for a bit. Where's the checkbook?"

Jay built a replica for me, I'll get some decent pics soon. He duplicated #205 (gen 1) per my request and that's were the new line of 1953 Thunderbirds was born. Jay told me he is using the original form and duplicated the water transfer decal found on the originals. He corrected the spelling of his Dad's name as well with the new decal. I enjoy shooting the new Thunderbird and look forward to spending more time with it. I talked to Jay last weekend and ended up ordering a walnut riser T-bird with maple wings.... should be another cool bow. Thanks for posting Bjorn. ( I did enjoy shooting #202 too, it's a nail driver).
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

I saw Jay at a local gun show on Saturday and let him know how much I loved the T-Bird.  He said the word must be getting around since he's been getting lots of orders.

It's a classic of great quality with surprising speed and smoothness.
