Weight of Mag A and B risers of Bear takedown
« on: October 08, 2015, 04:25:00 PM »
Hello All

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this or i the main section.  I will delete this if you think its in the wrong place.

I hope someone will be able to give me the weigths of the aforemetioned risers.  T

I wish to know so I ca decide if they are too heavy for me to hunt with.  I would personally like the b-riser so I can have a 64" bow.

Thanks for any advice.
Alex

Alex, My A mag with a hard plastic #1 grip and #3 limbs weighs in at 2lb  7oz;  My B mag(I weighed pieces as it is stripped down for refinish) with a set of #3 limbs minus string weighs 2lb 11oz.  Limbs are approx. 1 lb.  About 4oz difference betwee A and B mag which is roughly 1oz per inch.  These are not heavy bows.
Hope this helps.

I wouldn't think weight would be an issue, my B mag riser is comfy to carry.

Thank you both for the information.  Its seems as though the Mag risers are not much different than the wood ones.

I found the following information, but don't know how accurate it is.

Dymondwood A riser 1.8 lbs
wood A riser 1.5 lbs

Dymondwood B-riser 2.25lbs

Thank you once again, I appreciate the effort you took to give me the information.

My wood "B" riser is a tad heavier than my "B" mag riser. I happen to like the Mag better. I know it is not wood therefore it may not be considered trad enough but I do not care about that anymore.

Thought I would add some information.

B-MAG with medium rubber grip 2R is:
786 grammes or
1lb 12 oz

Additional information is that the bow does not have the std rubber sideplate, but a simple site system.  I am not sure how must that adds...
