Hi, Luzern. New here myself. I have a '69 Tamerlane HC300. What info do you need, specifically?
Feel free to PM me.

One suggestion might be to simply buy a Tamerlane...they are not as expensive is they were even a couple of years ago...they do not show up often in the classifieds but there are some out there...then simply sell it after you get the required information, although I have a feeling you would simply keep it...they are one of the nicest looking bows Grayling Bear made

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

This sounds like a good idea. There are a number of T-lanes showing finish checking, delams etc that are ending auction without selling...multiple times...because they probably are past their safe shooting stage. You could pick one up fairly cheap and either re-sell or use it as a wall-hanger after you get your dimensions. It would also give you a perfect profile for your mold.

I switched to LH a few years ago as a result of a shoulder injury unrelated to archery.
My cousin gave me a 37# RH Tamerlane a few months ago.  He found it in a delapitated trailer on a property he bought.
It's a phenomenal bow.  It's the only RH bow I will shoot.  I look forward to finding a LH one some day

They are truly magnificent. My Tamerlane is much better than I will ever be. It wants me to hit quarter-sized groups in the bull every shot but most times I seem to screw it up.

Well, I hope that they are as good as some of you guys think they are because I just bought one.  I should know in about a week if I like Tamerlanes or not.

I don't think you will be sorry.
Which model? Does it have the original brush rest?

Captain Kirk, it is the HC 300 70".  I really don't remember on the rest as I have looked at several photos of different bows for sale.  I do think that this one has a flipper rest.

Brad,
Super nice!
Mine is the 69"AMO HC-300,35#@28 with the original Bear brush rest.
They are heavy, but rock-solid as a result.
Here is a great vid of Jimmy Blackmon shooting his...after watching this I just KNEW I had to have one.

That is some pretty good shooting.  I probably won't come close to that.

I am having a hard time adjusting to the lack of poundage.  It shoots great except my brain is used to shooting a forty five pound bow and unless I over ride instinct, my arrows are all hitting eight to ten inches low.  I lowered the nock point as much as possible but it is clear that I am going to have to adjust my aim point quite a bit.  This bow may mess up my already lousy shooting.  If I just aim normally and not worry about putting the arrows into the bullseye, the grouping is great.

Brad, I had the same issue...until I watched Jimmy Blackmon's video and his recommendations regarding arrows. I PM'd him and he recommended a very light carbon arrow. I set myself up with a half dozen 500 spine Beman CenterShots with 100gr field points...tipping the scale at 395gr. Man, what a difference! From 'Low & Slow' to zippy-fast and flat!

Here's how they group at twenty yards:

Already using 500s in carbon but I can drop from 125 to 100.

Do that, and see if it helps.
I was amazed going from my 500gr woodies at the difference.
